Divination Recipe Book: Recipes for Tarot Oil, Incense, and Tea
I love creating recipes for magickal smokes, potions, and scents. So obviously, I’ve incorporated those recipes into my divination practice.
Here are a few recipes from my Book of Shadows to enjoy!
Divination Oil
(To roughly 8 or 9 mL of carrier oil, add this many drops of each essential oil)
33 Bay Laurel (for wishes)
9 Sandalwood (to achieve a spiritual state of mind and activate the third eye)
3 Myrrh (for the feminine, intuitive principle)
5 Lemongrass (to relax the mind)
3 Rosemary (clarity in communication)
Tarot and Oracle Card Purification Incense
(Use this for cleansing and purifying your cards. Burn the smoke and wave your cards either individually, or the whole deck, through the smoke)
3 parts hyssop (cleansing and purifying)
2 parts mugwort (opens psychic senses)
1 part cedar (cleansing and protective)
1 part rosemary (clarity)
1 part anise (clairvoyance and divination)
(Be careful with this one. Make sure you have good ventilation or go in stages. If you breathe a lot of this in, you can get really floaty/trancy, so make sure you don’t have anywhere to be after using this.)
Third Eye Tea
(The mugwort and wormwood are SUPER bitter, so you may want to adjust the amounts or even omit them entirely. But they’re great at bringing forth psychic visions!)
2 parts yarrow (intuition in psychic work)
2 parts bay (support during divination)
2 parts jasmine (ties to the moon and the feminine principle)
1 part mugwort (superb for opening the third eye and psychic senses)
1 part wormwood (works well with mugwort for opening psychic senses)
1 1/2 part cinnamon (empowering and warming, also good to flavor your tea)
1 star anise for the batch (divination and dream work)
I have tried all of these recipes personally and can vouch for them. If you give them a shot, let me know what you think!
