Tarot Spell Jar Magick: How to Trap a Card’s Energy for Manifestation

Isn’t it common knowledge that witches just LOVE JARS?  I know I certainly do, and using them for jar magick is just a no-brainer.

You can use jar magick in 2 ways.  

You can build a jar for protection or to repel forces you don’t want.  For this, you would want to fill the jar with things meant to ‘trap’ negativity (like thread or twine), things meant to damage the energy (needles, broken glass, other sharp things), things meant to attract that bad energy (urine or other personal items, black tourmaline), or things meant to purify that negativity (like salt or cleansing herbs)

You can also create a jar meant to attract things that you want in your life.  For a money jar, for example, you can include money, green rice, aventurine, citrine, honey (to attract), and money-drawing herbs.  For a love-attracting jar, rose quartz, rose petals, heart-shaped trinkets, etc.

So why wouldn’t you also include a tarot card?  For this purpose, I recommend having an inexpensive tarot deck that you don’t mind taking apart and using the cards individually.  You can rip the card up to add the essence of the card to your spell jar, or leave it whole if you’d like to see the picture.

Protective Cards to Add to Your Jar

7 or 9 of Wands.  Both cards show someone fighting a battle at different stages.  You can fight against anything that would seek to harm you.

3 of Swords.  You can place this in your jar to cause suffering to anyone who would wish you ill by throwing negativity your way.

6 of Swords.  In the image, the woman in the front of the boat is protected by swords as she’s ferried away from the harm she’s been experiencing.

Strength.  This card can be used to find your inner strength to weather any negativity being sent your way.

Attracting Cards to Add to Your Jar

Any of the Aces for the pure energy of that suit’s element.

6 of Pentacles for financial wins and bonuses.

9 of Pentacles for success and independence.

2 of Cups for a new love.

3 of Cups for friendship.

9 of Cups to fulfill wishes.

8 of Wands for motion and energy on a goal.

High Priestess or the Moon or the Star for spirituality.

There are many other options than what I’ve listed here, be creative in the cards that you choose!
